ALL ABOUT FUN!
Louie Verga had been playing solo acoustic gigs at local bars in Baltimore for three years when piano player
Chris "Tree" Richardson introduced himself at one of Louie's shows. Though Tree and Louie exchanged numbers it
was six months before they ran into each other again and had the jam session that conceived Louie Verga and Tree (LVT).
Surprisingly enough, Tree joined in on Louie's show the very next night.
Christian Miele, who met Tree at Towson University,
came to an LVT show one Friday night. After the gig, Christian approached Tree ready to join the band. Christian sat in with
the band on drums and percussion a few times before Louie and Tree formally invited him to join the band. Nick Rebbert met
Louie, and the two of them talked about their love of music. Nick who was an established guitarist had a history of playing
bass, the perfect complement to complete LVT's sound. Nick played a couple of shows with the band, and it was clear to see
that Nick was the perfect fit.
Louie's
influences include Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Bob Marley, and The Grateful Dead.
He was so interested in them
he taught himself guitar at age 12. He has an ear for music that allows him to imitate even the most complicated guitar rhythms
and chords.
At age 13, Tree taught himself to play the piano by imitating George Winston, and Billy Joel. He has developed the ability to pick apart a song and understand the music in and out. Tree has created his own style and offers a spontaneous approach that allows the piano to take the place of a lead guitar in the band.
Growing up, Christian was always surrounded by music; his father, Ric, sang in several well-known bands and played the drums
on the side. When Christian was 13, Ric purchased a drum kit from one of his friends and taught Christian the basics.
Nick comes from a family of musicians. His dad plays piano and guitar and his brother plays drums. Nick began playing bass
at the age of 14, inspired by his older brother's interest in guitar. Shortly thereafter, Nick began to play with some close
friends and formed several local bands while in high school. After five years of playing, Nick decided to give up bass in pursuit of learning the guitar, but switched back to bass to join LVT.
LVT's sound is rich and complete yet intimate enough to play smaller venues. They have many amazing originals, including Tonight, Trouble, Fly South, So Little, and Come N See. You have to see them to believe the astonishing music they create.
